Psychiatric Services
B & T Health provides comprehensive Psychiatric services for children (ages 6 and up), and adults throughout Tennessee. Children are safeguarded at our agency and we usually don’t start seeing children for psychiatric services until they are at least an adolescent unless medically necessary. Our psychiatric care is delivered as part of an integrated mental health model, working closely with counseling providers to support coordinated, thoughtful treatment planning.
Psychiatric services at B & T Health include initial psychiatric evaluations, diagnostic assessment, medication management, and ongoing follow-up care. Services are designed to support individuals experiencing concerns such as Depression, Anxiety disorders, Trauma-related conditions (PTSD), ADHD, Psychosis, Mood disorders, with care tailored to each individual’s clinical needs and history.
Our psychiatric providers utilize a conservative, patient-centered approach to prescribing, grounded in thorough clinical evaluation, collaborative decision-making, and ongoing monitoring. When medication is recommended, it is incorporated as one component of a comprehensive treatment plan that may also include therapy, lifestyle modifications, and skill development to support long-term stability and overall well-being. B & T Health does not prescribe Controlled Substances for long term use (ONLY for short term use & emergency situations), and prescribing decisions are guided by clinical appropriateness and best practices. We maintain a comprehensive stimulant prescribing policy designed to prioritize patient safety and minimize the risk of dependency. Our providers carefully evaluate all treatment options and, when clinically appropriate, consider alternative medications that offer therapeutic benefit while reducing the potential for adverse effects. Our goal is to ensure safe, evidence-based care that supports long-term stability and well-being.
As an integrated practice, B & T Health prioritizes collaboration between psychiatric and counseling providers. With client consent, providers communicate across disciplines to ensure continuity of care, alignment of treatment goals, and a more seamless experience for individuals and families.
Psychiatric services are available through Telehealth & (in-person appointments coming very soon) , when appropriate, to support accessibility and continuity of care. Treatment plans are reviewed regularly and adjusted as needed to reflect clinical progress, changes in symptoms, or evolving goals.
Our clinic is dedicated to fostering a calm, professional, and supportive environment where couples feel heard, respected, and valued.
